Recently, some networks are already withdrawing their services from Blackberry OS devices and even customers has given up on BlackBerry devices but WhatsApp seems to woke up on the right side of the bed, therefore prolonging support for WhatsApp for Blackberry OS till June, next year.

WhatsApp announced back as early as February that it is not going to support its application by the end of 2016 on some older mobile platforms which includes BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40 , Nokia Symbian S60 , Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 , Windows Phone 7, as well as iPhone 3GS/iOS 6.

However, WhatsApp changed their mind and announced again by a blog post to extend support for the following platforms until June 30, 2017: BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40 and Nokia Symbian S60.
As announced in our blog, we will soon be ending support for certain devices. On June 30, 2017, ''we will no longer support the following platforms: BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian S60''.
